Jamshedpur: Rain disrupted the matches in the ongoing Pankaj Memorial 60 Plus Masters Cricket Tournament here on Friday. In the match played at Keenan Stadium, Sixties Heroes defeated Sixties Strangers by nine runs.
Batting first, the Sixties Heroes scored 164 runs losing all the wickets in 38.2 overs. Former international cricketer Kirti Azad scored 40 runs while V Patel scored 34, Avinash Kumar made 20 and Sanjay Berry scored 19 runs. For Sixties Strangers, Iqbal Siddiqui took 5 wickets for 32 runs.
In reply, when the Sixties Strangers team came out to bat, it rained. After this the play was interrupted for an hour and a half. When the game started, the Sixties Strangers had the target of scoring 103 runs in 20 overs, but their team could score 94 runs for nine wickets. Sam David scored 17, Surendra Bajaj scored 10 runs, Ratan Sharma scored 12 and Ashit Sahay scored 08 not out.
For Sixties Heroes, MM Siddiqui took three wickets for 30 runs and Avinash Kumar, G Pradeep and Mario took two wickets each.
Earlier, Jampal MD PK Ghosh got introduced to the players at Keenan Stadium. On the other hand, the match between Sixties Royals and Sixties Giants could not be played at Tata Motors ground due to rain. Here Town Head Rajat Singh got introduced to the players. Thus far, Sixties Heroes have scored 8 points in two matches, while Sixties Strangers have scored four points. Sixties Royals and Sixties Giants have one point each.
