Patna: The Sipahi Bhagat Sports Award Ceremony will be held on August 27 at Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, to commemorate Sports Day. This event, organized by the Sipahi Bhagat Sports Foundation, will honor women cricketers, cricket coaches, and athletes from various sports in Patna district.
Aman Kumar, Director of Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, shared that the foundation has a strong history of social work and initiated this award ceremony last year. The foundation has successfully conducted numerous sports events over the years and is set to host an inter-school kho-kho tournament this month.
Highlighting the achievements of women athletes in Bihar, Aman Kumar noted that they have brought great pride to the state. Bihar’s own Shreyasi Singh has competed in the Olympics. The foundation aims to inspire Bihar’s athletes through this recognition, boosting the state’s prospects in future competitions.
Kumar also pointed out the increasing international recognition of Indian athletes, from the Olympics to the Asian Games. He emphasized that Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, as a premier educational institution, understands its social responsibility and contributes significantly to social initiatives.
Paljinder Pal Singh, Principal of Open Mind A Birla School, Danapur, announced plans for more sports events, including kho-kho, in the coming days. The school aims to create a better sports environment both within the institution and across the state. Singh highlighted that sports contribute to physical, social, and mental development. The Sipahi Bhagat Foundation will continue to organize various sports competitions and focus on the development of women athletes in Bihar.
