Bhabhua, April 26, 2024: Kaimur secured a commanding 6-wicket victory over Rohtas in the sixth match of Pool C of the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament, organized by the Kaimur District Cricket Association under the auspices of the Bihar Cricket Association.
At the Jagjivan Stadium, Kaimur won the toss and elected to field first. Rohtas set a formidable target of 302 runs, losing 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Sudarshan Kumar shone with a superb half-century, scoring 89 runs off 88 balls, while Samarjeet contributed briskly with 74 runs off 64 balls. Additionally, Tarun Singh (35 runs in 46 balls), Himanshu Nagar (31 runs in 27 balls), Saurav Pratap (21 runs in 34 balls), Siddharth Gautam (17 runs), and Sushil Chaturvedi (11 runs) contributed to Rohtas’ total.
Nishant Singh led Kaimur’s bowling attack, claiming 3 wickets for 40 runs, supported by Priyam Chaubey (2 wickets for 30 runs), Dhanesh Chauhan (2 wickets for 64 runs), and Danish Khan (1 wicket for 32 runs).
In pursuit of 303 runs, Kaimur reached the target in 49.1 overs, securing victory. Shashank Upadhyay starred with a magnificent century, scoring 121 runs off 101 balls, while Anubhav Singh remained unbeaten with 100 runs off 96 balls. Gupil Rai contributed 40 runs off 31 balls, while Abhishek Singh and Sanjeet Kumar added valuable runs.
Rohtas’ bowling effort saw Md. Parvez taking 2 wickets for 66 runs, Sudarshan claiming 1 wicket for 23 runs, and Sagar Tiwari securing 1 wicket for 43 runs. Shashank Upadhyay was awarded the Player of the Match trophy for his outstanding performance.
