Secretariat beat ERCC by five wickets

Patna, April 29:  Thanks to Rajkumar Debnath’s all-round performance (5 wickets, 23 runs) and captain Neeraj Kumar’s half-century (54), Secretariat CC defeated ERCC by five wickets in the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League match played on Monday. This was Secretariat’s second win in Group C in five matches while ERCC faced a second defeat in four matches.

Batting first at Sampatchak Ground in Patna, ERCC Club were all out scoring 170 runs in 29.4 overs. In reply, Secretariat won the match by scoring 173 runs for five wickets in 27.1 overs.

Batting for ERCC, Saurabh Tiwari scored 54 runs in 77 balls with the help of five fours. Apart from this, Shan Kumar contributed 44 runs with the help of two fours and two sixes in 38 balls. Both of them added 50 runs in 49 balls in the fifth wicket partnership. For Secretariat, Rajkumar Debnath took five wickets giving away 23 runs.

In reply, opener and captain Neeraj Kumar of Secretariat scored 54 runs in 68 balls with the help of three fours. He laid the foundation of victory by adding 82 runs for the first wicket with Anmol (42 balls, 37 runs). Rajkumar Debnath also later scored an unbeaten 23 runs in 19 balls.
