- Bihar’s Abhijeet Saket selected as reserve player
Patna: The East Zone team has been announced to participate in the ProFessor DB Deodhar Trophy to be held in Puducherry. In the East Zone selection committee meeting held at JSCA in Ranchi, a 15-member team has been announced under the leadership of Saurabh Tiwary, while Abhimanyu Easwaran has been named the vice-captain.
Bihar fast bowler Abhijeet Saketh has been selected as a reserve player.altogether six players have been selected as reserve. Deodhar trophy matches will be held in Puducherry from July 24 to August 7.
East Zone’s first match will be against Central Zone on July 24 at CAP Ground-3 in Puducherry.
The team for the East Zone is selected by the selectors of the six states comprising Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Tripura, Odisha and Assam. The selection committee included Bihar’s Siddharth Raj Singha, Jharkhand’s Subroto Das, Bengal’s Shubhamoy Das, Assam’s Sumit Ranjan Das, Odisha’s Subit Biswal and Tripura’s Jayanta Dey. Devashish Chakraborty, secretary of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, was the selection coordinator.
