Patna: Saran defeated Arwal, Munger defeated Banka, Begusarai defeated Muzaffarpur, Purnia defeated Madhepura, Bhojpur defeated Aurangabad and Madhubani defeated Supaul in BCA Inter District Cricket Tournament played at different venues of Bihar on Sunday.
Saran defeat Arwal
All-round performance by Arunesh (4 wickets and 47 runs) and a half-century from Bhaskar (54 runs) helped Saran beat Arwal by five wickets at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Sunday.
Arwal won the toss and decided to bat first. Arwal had a poor start as Santosh Kumar, who scored a half-century in the last match, got out after scoring only 1 run. Hrithik Rajesh also could not play long innings and got out after scoring only 20 runs. Later, Dipesh Kumar Gupta and Prakash Babu took the innings forward. Arwal scored 172 runs in 43.2 overs losing all the wickets. Deepesh Kumar Gupta scored 45 runs in 82 balls with the help of 6 fours, Prakash Babu scored 59 runs in 70 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
For Saran, Arunesh took four wickets by giving away 53 runs, Anoop Kumar took three wickets by giving away 27 runs.
In reply, Saran achieved the target losing five wickets. Arunesh scored 47 runs off 76 balls with the help of 6 fours, Bhaskar scored 54 runs in 64 balls with the help of 10 fours, Roshan Kumar scored 20 and Vaibhav scored 13.
For Arwal, Rishabh Raj took one for 18 runs, Prakash took 2 wickets for 29 runs, Santosh took 2 wickets for 31 runs. Arunesh of the winning team was awarded the man of the match award.
Munger beat Banka
Bhagalpur: Munger defeated Banka by 122 runs at Sandys Compound Stadium on Sunday. Batting first, Munger scored 289 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Syed Gulrej Alam scored a brilliant 107 (122 balls) with the help of 14 fours and a six. Md Shahid Khan scored 57 runs with the help of 9 fours and a six and Anand Kumar scored 50 runs with the help of six fours.
For Banka, Raghavendra Pratap and Himanshu took two wickets each. Chasing the target of 289 runs, the Banka were out for 167 runs in 33.3 overs. Gunjan Kumar scored 31 runs. Govind Dev Chaudhary took 6 wickets for 31 runs in 9.3 overs.
Begusarai beat Muzaffarpur
Hosts Begusarai defeated Muzaffarpur by a huge margin of 222 runs in a one-sided encounter at Barauni Refinery Stadium. Batting first, Begusarai scored 305 runs losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs match. For Begusarai Murari scored 68 runs and Atul Prakash scored 77 runs and from Muzaffarpur Sarfaraz Rizvi got rilliant 5 wickets and Atul Priyankar got 2 wickets.
In reply, Muzaffarpur were all out for 82 runs in the 29th over. For Begusarai, Imtiaz got 5 and Sarvjit Yadav got 3 wickets.
Purnia beat Madhepura
Batting first, Purnia scored 236 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. Shishir Saket scored 64 runs in 80 balls with the help of 7 fours and two sixes, Saksham Singh scored 45 runs. For Madhepura, Kunal Yadav took 3 wickets for 47 runs in 7 overs.
Chasing 237 runs to win, Madhepura got trapped in the spin of Aqib Raza and Rahul Kumar Singh and were all out for 100 runs. For Madhepura, Gaurav Raj scored 31 runs off 36 balls with the help of 5 fours. Aqib Raza bagged 4 wickets for 11 runs in 7 overs with three maidens and Rahul Kumar Singh also bagged three wickets.
Bhojpur beat Aurangabad
Bhojpur defeated Aurangabad by a huge margin of 178 runs at Jagjivan Stadium in Bhabhua. Bhojpur team won the toss and decided to bat first. Bhojpur’s opener batsman Varun Raj scored 124 runs and Hridayanand scored 105 runs. Bhojpur scored 323 for 8 off 50 overs. Vivek Kumar and Karan Raj took three wickets each.
Chasing a huge target, Aurangabad opener Vipin Saurabh got off to a brisk start and shared a half-century partnership with Harsh Raj in just 5 overs, but after Vipin’s dismissal, the pace of runs slowed down and then Aurangabad were all out for 145 runs in 31 overs. Vipin Saurabh scored 48 runs and Harshraj Puru made 32 runs.
For Bhojpur, Hridayanand took 3 wickets, Samaresh, Ankit and Paramjeet took 2-2 wickets. Hridayanand Singh of Bhojpur DCA was adjudged the best player of the match for his outstanding performance with bat and ball in the match.
Madhubani beat Supaul by 47 runs
Darbhanga. Madhubani defeated Supaul by 47 runs in Mithila zone. Madhubani, winning the toss and opting to bat first, got all out for 211 runs in 48.2 overs. Madhubani’s middle order batsman Aditya Raj scored 52 runs. Utkarsh scored 46 and Sanjay Yadav scored 21 runs.
Supaul’s bowlers Mohd Izhar and Mazhar took three wickets each. In reply, Supaul’s team got all out for 164 runs in 46.2 overs and lost the match by 47 runs. Supaul’s batsman Shamsher scored 49 runs. Madhubani’s bowlers Vikas and Arun took three wickets each. Madhubani’s batsman Aditya Raj was selected as “Man of the Match”.
