Patna: Former spokesperson of Bihar Cricket Association and advocate Sanjeev Mishra led a delegation of cricket players to meet Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) observer for Bihar cricket and joint secretary of BCCI Devajit Saikia in a Patna hotel on Tuesday. In about 40-minute meeting with the BCCI observer, Mishra highlighted the irregularities prevailing in the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) and handed over a memorandum to Saikia.
Earlier, Sanjeev Kumar Mishra gifted Shrimad Bhagvad Gita published by Gita Press, Gorakhpur to Saika. Prior to this, Mishra also welcomed Saikia to the holy land of Pataliputra by Gayatri Pariwar, Shantikunj Haridwar’s scarf.
Later, the delegation led by Mishra discussed the current situation of cricket in Bihar for about 40 minutes with Saikia. Other members of the delegation included former cricketers and journalists Bipin Bharti, Ratnesh Anand and Niranjan Kumar. They told Saikia that cricketers in Bihar have been completely denied the right to play. There is no measure of performance, hard work and experience of the players in team selection. Corruption is rampant from the selection of players to the organisational set up. BCA is not following its constitution due to which the condition of Bihar cricket is getting worse day by day. The delegation said that Saikia listened carefully to all of us and talked about taking appropriate steps in the interest of Bihar cricket, according to a Press release issued by advocate Mishra.
