5th Casa Picolla School Cricket League Inaugurated with Spectacular Ceremony

Patna: The fifth edition of the Casa Picolla School Cricket League, organised under the aegis of Turning Point, was inaugurated on Saturday, 28th March, at the Krishna Cricket Ground (Khemnichak) in Patna. The tournament was officially inugurated by Dr Prem Kumar, Bihar Government’s Minister for the Cooperative Department, along with Patna Municipal Corporation’s Deputy Mayor Reshmi Chandravanshi, Empowered Committee member Indradeep Chandravanshi, BJP Sports Cell State Convenor Satish Raju, Rize IIT Coaching Director Dhananjay Kumar Singh, and Spectra Flyash Industries Private Limited MD Viru Singh. The dignitaries marked the occasion by cutting the ribbon, releasing 501 balloons, meeting the players, and blowing the conch.

In his inaugural address, Cooperative Minister Dr Prem Kumar remarked, “The true test of any sport begins at the school level, and I commend the organisers for hosting this event to nurture young talent.” He added that the Bihar Government is actively working to promote sports, not just at the district level but also in rural areas.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Turning Point’s Director and Organising President, Vijay Sharma, and Organising Secretary, Naveen Kumar, who presented them with bouquets, mementoes, and shawls. The ceremony was conducted by commentator Mrityunjay Jha.

First Match

In the opening match, Manav Rachna Lions beat Aditya Dabang by nine wickets. Aditya Dabang won the toss and chose to bat first, posting 179 all out in 20 overs, with Ayan Sinha top-scoring at 69. In response, Manav Rachna Lions chased down the target in just 16.4 overs, finishing at 180/1, thanks to half-centuries from Yuvraj (64*) and Aman Yadav (55). Yuvraj, who also took three wickets, was named Player of the Match, with the award presented by Hariom Gandhi, Marketing Head of Aditya University.

Second Match

The second match saw Biher Nightriders dominate Sanskriti Changers with a 103-run victory. After being put in to bat, Biher Nightriders posted 187 all out in 19.5 overs. In reply, Sanskriti Changers were bowled out for just 84 in 14.1 overs. Pushkar, who claimed five wickets for just nine runs, was awarded Player of the Match.

Aditya Dabang: 179 all out (20 overs) – Ayan Sinha 69, Ayush Kumar 22, Extras 18.
Manav Rachna Lions: 180/1 (16.4 overs) – Yuvraj 64*, Aman Yadav 55, Ayushman Singh 39*.

Biher Nightriders: 187 all out (19.5 overs) – Shan Goswami 47, Rahul 35, Extras 37.
Sanskriti Changers: 84 all out (14.1 overs) – Pratyush Sundaram 31, Extras 13.
