Lucknow: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has developed a ‘Safe City App’ under the Safe City project to provide safety and other facilities for women, the elderly, children, and divyangjan in 17 municipal corporations and Gautam Buddha Nagar. Along with this, the government has created a Safe City portal and prepared pages, logos, and slogans on social media platforms, which will be launched soon.

Surakshit Seher Har Prahar

As per the intention of the Chief Minister, details of government schemes and links of various departments are being uploaded on the Safe City App. Additionally, information about the nearest police booth and toilet is also being entered in the app so that people do not have trouble finding police assistance during emergencies.

The Safe City app was developed by the Urban Development Department, and it is currently in the process of being filled with information. The logo for UP Safe City has also been created, and it will soon be placed in prominent landmarks and locations in 17 municipal corporations and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Notably, the Urban Development Department received numerous suggestions for UP Safe City’s slogan through crowdsourcing. Out of these, five options were presented in the recent review seminar, in which “Surakshit Sheher Har Prahar” was selected. It has been sent to the government for approval.

Safe City UP page created on social media platform

Under the Safe City Project, a Safe City UP page has been created on social media platforms to raise awareness among the public. Efforts will be made to spread awareness through FM jingles, community radio, and more. Moreover, advertising campaigns will be issued focusing on sensitization programs, direct-indirect marketing, and safety and empowerment of impactful individuals.

For this, a six-month program has been prepared by the Women and Child Protection Organization and made available to the Information Department. The Information and Public Relations Department has written to the government to approve a budget of Rs 20.17 crore for these activities. Furthermore, continuous training is being provided to girls to teach them self-defense.
