Bhabhua: Rohtas defeated Aurangabad by two wickets in the ninth match of Shahabad Zone Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Tournament, hosted by Kaimur District Cricket Association under the banner of Bihar Cricket Association.
In the match played at the local Jagjivan Stadium, Aurangabad won the toss and batted first and scored a respectable score of 238 runs after losing all the wickets in 47.5 overs. For Aurangabad, Ayush Raj scored a brilliant half-century of 68 runs in 47 balls and Nitish Suchit Kumar scored a patient half-century of 56 runs in 67 balls. Apart from this, Arjun Kumar contributed 29 runs in 44 balls, Sachin Singh contributed 24 runs in 36 balls, Ankush Agarwal contributed 16 runs and Naveen Kumar contributed 11 runs.
For Rohtas, Vishal Kumar took 3 wickets for 62, Pratham, Siddharth Bhardwaj and Ankit Raj took 2 wickets each and Amit Raj took 1 wicket.
Chasing 239 runs, Rohtas team achieved the target by scoring 242 runs losing 8 wickets in 49.1 overs. Aryan Raghuvanshi laid the foundation of victory by scoring an excellent half-century and playing an innings of 74 runs in 62 balls. Opener Sant Kumar also played a solid innings of 54 runs in 50 balls. Vishal played patiently and scored unbeaten 46 runs in 65 balls.
Apart from this, Ankit Raj contributed 14 runs and Rajeev Sharma contributed 12 runs in the victory of their team. For Aurangabad, Prabhat Singh took 2 wickets for 53 runs and Vishal Kumar took 2 wickets for 31 runs and Ankush and Nitish Suchit Kumar took 1 wicket each.
The Player of the Match trophy was given to Vishal Kumar of Rohtas by former Rohtas player Amit Kumar for his all-round performance (3 wickets and 46 not out).
