Rest of Seemanchal heading for a big score in BCA Super League

Patna: Gaya were 129 for two in their first innings in reply to Darbhanga’s 172 all out in the multi-day BCA Inter-District Super League match at the Mounil Haq Stadium here on Saturday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Darbhanga were for 172 runs. For Darbhanga, Ayush Loharika scored 59 runs, Bhaswan Bhardwaj 34 runs, Navneet Jha 24 runs, Altamas 16 runs, Subhash Chandra 14 runs and Md Firoz 6 runs. Gaurav Kumar took 5 wickets and Ashutosh Aman bagged 4 wickets for Gaya.

Gaya replied with 129 for two at the end of first day’s play. Saifullah made 49 runs and Mangal Mahrour scored 12 runs. Ranjan Raj remained unbeaten on 51 runs and Kush Pratap on 10. Mayank Kumar got both the wickets from Darbhanga.

At Kosi Club Ground, Birpur (Supaul), the match between Katihar and Rest of Patliputra began. Katihar won the toss and invited Rest of Patliputra to bat first. Patliputra were all out for 120 runs in 36.5 overs. Aditya Anand contributed 24 runs and Shiv Raj 21. For, Katihar,  Mohammad Shahnawaz took 6 wickets for 24 runs.

In reply, Katihar were all out for just 115 runs. Thus Patliputra took 5 runs first innings lead. Ankit scored 37 runs for Katihar while Suraj contributed 36 runs. Anup Kumar took 5 wickets and Aditya Anand took 4 wickets for Patliputra.

In their second innings, Patliputra were 67 for 4 wickets at the end of the first day of the game. Santosh scored 35 runs. For Katihar, Ajay, Khalid and Peter took one wicket each.

In the Rest of Seemanchal vs Rest of Western Zone match at Green Valley ground in Gulab Bagh. Rest of Western won the toss and invited Rest of Seemanchal to bat first. Aqib Raza 92 and Shraman Nigrodh 94 (both not out) helped Rest of Seemanchal Zone post a respectable score of 334 for four at the end of the first day’s play. For Rest of Seemanchal Zone, Shishir Saket scored 55 runs, Raja Babu scored 45 runs. Prashant Srivastava took 3 wickets and Shubham Kumar took one wicket from Rest of Western Zone.
