Patna, June 27: The final match of the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League, organized by the Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee, ended without a result due to rain, with YMCC and RBNYAC being declared joint winners.
During the awards ceremony, players from both the Senior and Junior Division Cricket Leagues were recognized and honored by several notable figures, including Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Zia Ul Arfin, CEO Manish Raj, BCA GM Cricket Operations Sunil Singh, Lakshya Engitech LLP Managing Director SN Raju, and Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee President Rajesh Kumar. Many dignitaries and senior players graced the event.
Several prominent figures in Patna cricket were honored. The Late Dr. Ajay Bhagat received a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, accepted by his family. Former international umpire LP Verma also received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Amikar Dayal, Tarun Kumar Bhola, and Prem Ballabh Sahay were specially honored for their significant contributions to Patna cricket.
Bihar Cricket Association Secretary Zia-ul-Arfin congratulated the organizers for the successful conduct of the Patna District Senior and Junior Cricket Leagues, and for creating history with the Women’s Cricket League this year.
Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee President Rajesh Kumar provided an overview of the league, noting that all matches were conducted on turf wickets without any disruptions. He expressed gratitude to the League Steering Committee members, umpires, and scorers, and promised an even better organization next year.
Executive Committee member Rahbar Abdin thanked the players and club officials for their faith in the Executive Committee and highlighted the association’s commitment to further developing women’s cricket.
Rajesh Kumar and Rahbar Abdin welcomed everyone, while Dhananjay Kumar, President of the Patna District Senior and Junior Division League Executive Committee, expressed his gratitude. Several dignitaries, including former Ranji Player Ram Kumar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Ranveer Mehta, Nishant Kumar, and Suday Kumar, attended the event.

RBNYAC won the toss and invited YMCC to bat. YMCC’s openers put on a solid 172-run partnership. Amit Kumar scored 60 runs before getting out. Rain interrupted the game with YMCC at 194 runs for 1 wicket in 31 overs, with Ashish Kumar unbeaten on 110 and Virat Pandey on 9. With no further play possible, both teams were declared joint winners. The match was inaugurated by Lakshya Engitech LLP Managing Director SN Raju and Patna District Cricket Steering Committee President Rajesh Kumar.
