Bhagalpur: Seeking support for the I.N.D.I.A candidates contesting from five parliamentary constituencies of this region namely Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Banka and Bhagalpur where polling is scheduled in second phase, Rahul Gandhi, congress leader today preferred to maintain his tirade against PM Modi particularly his policies.
The congress leader was speaking at an election meeting held here this afternoon at Sandy’s Compound. The meeting was also addressed by Tejaswi Yadav, RJD leader and Mukesh Sahani, VIP leader.
In his address the Congress leader citing possibility of constitutional collapse said the democratic system of the country is threatened under present Modi government. Saving democratic framework of country as well as safeguarding constitutional provisions is one the major objectives of his alliance, Gandhi added.
Labelling Modi government as pro capitalist he alleged Modi has been supporting industrialists like Ambani and Adani. To substantiate his point Gandhi said present government has given loan waiver of 16lakh crore rupees to 25 lakh crore rupees to twenty- two to twenty- five industrialists.
The amount given as loan waiver to industrialists is four time more than the amount that was given as loan waiver to farmers by Congress led government in past. In a bid to ascertain I.N.D.I.A is pro farmer alliance the congress leader said voted to power the alliance would give loan waivers to farmers besides their Minimum Support Price (MSP) demand would be fulfilled.
He was of the view that farmers are against Modi. Expressing his pro poor concerns, Gandhi said following electoral victory under Mahalaxmi Kanya Yojana amount of Rs one lakh would be sent directly to account of poor people.
Alleging Modi has transformed the country as a center of unemployment he further said voted to power right to employment would be ensured for youth. In this context he said the “Agni Veer Yajona” introduced in army by present government would be discontinued if I.N.D.I.A comes to power.
He also assured changes in present GST rules and regulation following victory. Alleging Modi is misleading people Gandhi added BJP in any case will not be able to win more than 150 seats.
Tejaswi Yadav, RJD leader speaking on the occasion said unemployment is biggest problem of country. He said to do away with unemployment the unemployed would be given preference in employment.
Claiming I.N.D.I.A win in all the four parliamentary seats of state where polling was held in first phase the RJD leader said the alliance would register victory in all five parliamentary seats of state where polling will be held in second phase.
The speakers on the occasion included Mukesh Sahani of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). The meeting was presided by Chandrashekhar Yadav, RJD, district president. The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Parvez Jamal, congress, district president. Ajit Sharma, congress candidate from this parliamentary seat proposed vote of thanks.
