Katihar: Hosts Katihar registered their first victory in the Moinul Haq Cup for 71st Bihar State Inter District Football Competition thrashing Kishanganj 9-0 in their final league match. Another match between Purnia and Madhepura ended in a goalless draw.
After this draw, Madhepura have seven points from three matches. Purnia have eight in four matches. Katihar’s first win in four matches. Kishanganj, on the other hand, have faced defeat in all the four matches.
In this way Purnia topped the Group B of Region 4 and qualified for the next round.
In the most important match of the day, the match between Madhepura and Purnia ended in a 0-0 draw.
Both the teams tried hard to score but neither could succeed. During the match, referee Vinay Kumar showed yellow card to Purnia’s Harshit Anand. Harendra Kumar Yadav, Roshan Gupta and Mukesh Rai were the assistant referees.
