Patna: Punjab defeated Bihar by nine wickets in the first match of the Senior Women’s T-20 tournament at the Sports Hub International Stadium in Trivandrum. Batting first after winning the toss, Bihar team could score only 89 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply Punjab scored 92 runs for one wicket in 12.3 overs.
For Bihar, Apoorva Kumari contributed 13 runs, Arya made 24, Preeti scored 12 runs and Pragati made 25 runs. For Punjab, Kanika and Nitu took 3 wickets each, while two players were run out.
For Punjab, Tanya Sapna Bhatia remained unbeaten on 71 runs and Pragati Singh remained unbeaten on 6 runs. Riddhima scored 15 runs. Bihar’s next match will be against Haryana on October 20.
