Punjab FC hope to finish the tournament on a high

Bhubaneshwar: Punjab FC (PFC) will hope to finish on a high when they face I-League side Gokulam Kerala FC in their final Group C match of the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 which will be played here at the Kalinga Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 2 PM. PFC had lost their previous match against Mumbai City FC 3-2 through an injury time goal while Gokulam Kerala lost to Chennaiyin FC 2-0. Punjab FC are currently third on the table with one point while Gokulam Kerala have no points from their two matches.

PFC will have their Head Coach Staikos Vergetis back in the dugout after missing the last match through suspension. The Shers will hope to finish the tournament with a win and gain confidence ahead of the ISL season which will resume after the international break.

Speaking ahead of the match, PFC Head Coach Staikos Vergetis said, “We have played very well in the tournament but were unlucky not to get the full points in the previous two matches. Now, we will go into the match tomorrow to finish the tournament with a win. We have previously played Gokulam Kerala multiple times and they have always been a very competitive team.”
