Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed happiness over the Central Government’s decision to raise the subsidy for the Ujjwala scheme, describing it as a thoughtful gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ‘Matru Shakti’ ahead of Navratri.

He has termed this decision by the Central Government ‘praiseworthy’ and conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi via his social media account.

The Chief Minister posted on social media on Wednesday, “Today, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, known for his dedication to women’s welfare and the upliftment of the economically disadvantaged, has made a commendable decision. They have raised the subsidy on LPG from Rs 200 to Rs 300 under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.’ Heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing this gift to ‘Matru Shakti’ ahead of Shardiya Navratri and various festivals.”

The Central Government on Wednesday increased the subsidy provided to poor women who got cooking gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme to Rs 300 per cylinder from the current Rs 200. This decision was taken by the government during the cabinet meeting.
