Pune: UP Yoddhas, the GMR owned franchisee representing the state of Uttar Pradesh will take the mat on November 11 against Haryana Steelers in search of that elusive win after a series of Tied games, here at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. Playing two close and thrilling back to back ties against Haryana Steelers and Bengal Warriors in their previous games, UP Yoddhas are searching for a win that will not only promote them to the 5th place from their current 10th in the league standings but more importantly it will be the much needed morale booster for the team which has been displaying some excellent team work in the last few games. The match between UP Yoddhas and Haryana Steelers will be broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE Disney Hotstar, 07:30 p.m. (IST) onwards tomorrow.

The last time both sides met was five days back in the 9th edition of Pro Kabaddi League which resulted in a thrilling tie of 36-36. Out of a total seven times that both the teams have met so far, UP Yoddhas have emerged victorious twice, while as many number of games ended in a tie. The match is expected to invoke a lot of fan support, action and thrill as Pardeep Narwal, Surender Gill, Rohit Tomar and Nitesh Kumar will take the mats in search of a win that too against their neighboring state team.

“We are taking the mat to play our best game, and of course while we will want nothing less than a win, but again, only if kabaddi was that predictable, things would have been so easy. Like I have said before, we are putting in our heart and soul into every training session and game, and I am hopeful that in our next game we will bear the fruits of success, “said, Jasveer Singh, Head Coach UP Yoddhas.

Captain Pardeep Narwal, who has displayed traces of his extraordinary skills in the past few matches will be the one to be watched out for sure. Standing second on the stats table of Super Raid, Narwal has also earned 4 Super 10s from the season, with able support from none other than Surender Gill, who has been consistently helping UP Yoddhas every time they get into a sticky situation during a game. Commonly known as Multi-Point Gill, Surender is in the top 10’s in multiple stats table of Pro Kabaddi League. The latest find for UP Yoddhas, Raider Rohit Tomar would also be the one that everyone would be keeping an eye on, especially after his heroic 16 raid point performance in UP Yoddhas last encounter against Bengal Warriors. UP Yoddhas whose defence lacked sheen in the early half of the season, now with Nitesh Kumar, Ashu Singh and Sumit training hard, seems to have got back its shine and will be a definite cause of worry for the opponents.
