Patna, May 11: With the help of all-round performance by Shasheem Rathore (87 runs, two wickets) and half-century by Piyush Kumar Singh (76 runs), PESU defeated ERCC by 6 wickets in its last league match of the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League. With this win, PESU remained second in Pool C. YMCC team is on top in Pool C. ERCC team stood fourth.
In the match played at the Urja Stadium, ERCC captain Bunty Kumar won the toss and decided to bat first. ERCC scored 230 runs for 8 wickets in 40 overs with the help of Vinay Kumar’s half-century. Vinay Kumar scored 79 runs in 75 balls with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes. Satyam Jha scored 36 runs, Saurabh Tiwari scored 45 runs, Vivek Kumar scored 25 runs and Abhinav Singh scored 20 unbeaten runs.
For PESU, Shasheem Rathore took 2 wickets while Pawan, Rahul Rathore and Rajesh Kumar Sinha took 1 wicket each.
In reply, PESU won the match by scoring 231 runs for four wickets in 24.5 overs. On behalf of PESU, Shasheem Rathore scored 87 runs in 38 balls with the help of 9 fours and 6 sixes, Piyush Kumar Singh scored 76 runs in 61 balls with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes, Babul scored 40 runs.
