Patna: Patna suffered second consecutive defeat in Randhir Verma Under-19 cricket tournament. In the second match of Patliputra Zone, Vaishali defeated Patna by 6 wickets.

In the match played at the local Moinul Haq Stadium, Patna won the toss and decided to bat first. Patna scored 237 runs losing all the wickets in 49.3 overs. Captain Simukh Kumar and Parth, who played a half-century in the first match, returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs. Openers Raunit Giri and Saurabh Tiwari scored half-centuries, taking Patna’s score to 237 runs. Raunit Giri scored 53 runs in 35 balls with the help of 11 fours, Saurabh Tiwari scored 66 runs in 101 balls with the help of 6 fours, Vishal Kumar scored 37 runs, Govind Kumar Singh scored 35 runs. Vaishali’s Nitish took 4 wickets for 53 runs while Harshvardhan took 3 wickets for 46 runs.

In reply, Vaishali won the match by scoring 239 runs for 4 wickets in 47.3 overs on the basis of excellent batting of Ankit (54 runs), Md Ilyas (53 runs), Adarsh Kumar (39 runs) and Abhishek Anand (46 runs not out). For Patna, Shivam Kumar, Govind Kumar Singh and Abhinav Singh took 1 wicket each.
