Patna records 192 fresh Covid cases, one death

Patna, July 13: New Covid cases are surging rapidly in Bihar as 436 new Covid cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours. Patna topped the chart with 192 new Covid cases. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad also tested positive. Of these, 192 new Covid patients detected in Patna district included four doctors. With this, the number of active patients in Patna has reached 1312. A 62-year-old Covid infected patient died at AIIMS Patna on Tuesday due to Covid.

Patna AIIMS Covid Ward nodal officer Dr Sanjeev Kumar said that the patient had come to AIIMS Patna for treatment on July 7. He tested Covid positive. Later, he was admitted to the emergency Covid ward. He was also suffering from other diseases besides Covid.

Meanwhile, four doctors and one employee of Nalanda Medical College Hospital tested positive. All patients are in home quarantine. A total of 806 samples were examined at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) yesterday. Out of these, the 23 people tested positive. A total of nine Covid patients have been admitted to Patna AIIMS, PMCH, IGIMS, and NMCH and private hospitals. Of these, maximum four patients have been admitted to the Covid ward of AIIMS Patna.

The number of active Covid patients in the state has increased to 2344. However, it is a matter of relief that the Covid infection rate in the state is only 0.34 per cent, while the infection rate in Patna is 2.85 per cent. The Covid infection rate in Banka and Begusarai is 4.32 and 1.48 per cent respectively.

At the same time, 361 Covid patients also recovered in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 1.27632 lakh samples were examined in the state.
