Shlok Kumar Patna slams a century in final

Patna: Patna were just six wickets away from winning the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament title as Rest of Shahabad Zone were 88 for 4 in their second innings while chasing 333 runs to win on the third day of the four-day final match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday.

Starting the day on 29 for 2, Patna scored 244 runs all out in their second innings and took a lead of 33 runs. Patna had made 287 runs in their first innings while Rest of Shahabad Zone made 199 runs in their first innings.

In an otherwise, lacklustre show by Patna batsmen in the second innings, Shlok Kumar hit a splendid century 101 runs to build Patna innings.  Apart from Shlok, Shasheem Rathore scored 22, Akash Raj scored 21, Yashasvi Shukla scored 38 and Aman Raj scored 12 runs for Patna..

For Rest of Shahabad Zone, Paramjeet captured for wickets for 55 runs and Samaresh Kumar took 4 wickets for 46 runs. Sagar Tiwari and Ankit Singh bagged one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 333, Rest of Shahabad Zone were 88 for four in 31 overs at the end of the third day’s play. Ankit Raj 15 and Harsh Raj 13 were on the crease. Varun Raj scored 36 runs for Shahabad Zone.

For Patna, Rahul Rathore took two wickets for 9 runs, Abhinav Singh  and Shasheem Rathore took one wicket each.
