Patna, Kaimur register wins in BCA Super League

PATNA: Patna beat Rest of Western Zone by nine wickets; Kaimur beat Rest of Seemanchal Zone by seven wickets, while Darbhanga and Rest of Central Zone match ended in a draw on the final day of the BCA Super League at different venues of the state on Saturday. On the basis of first-innings lead, Darbhanga got three points and Rest of Seemanchal zone got one point.

In the second innings, Suraj Kashyap (8 wickets) bowled brilliantly and Piyush Kumar Singh (42 not out), Shasheem Rathor (46 runs) and Ashish Kumar (43 not out) batted well as Patna register nie wicket victory over Rest of Western Zone at the Moinul Haq Stadium. This was Patna’s second consecutive victory.

Rest of Western Zone scored 231 runs in their first innings and 129 in 34.1 overs in their second innings. Patna scored 229 runs in their first innings and scored 134 runs for one wicket off 23.1 overs in the second innings.

On the last day, Rest of Western Zone started their second innings at 54 for two and were all out for 129 runs in 34.1 overs. Sakibul Gani scored 22, Prashant Singh 26, Abhishek Kumar 12 and Ravi Kumar Sharma 35.

For Patna, Suraj Kashyap bowled brilliantly, taking 8 wickets for 12 runs off 8.1 overs. Chasing 131 runs to win, raced to the target losing one wicket.

Kaimur DCA won the match by scoring 102 runs in 15.5 overs in the last day’s against Seemanchal. Starting the day with 63 runs for one wicket, Ali Zan scored 50 runs from Kaimur, Prince Singh scored an unbeaten 45 to guide their team to victory. For Rest of Seemanchal, Aqib Raza took two wickets and Raj Singh took one wicket. Kaimur team’s captain Vikas Kumar Patel was declared man of the match for this match.

At the Kosi Club ground in Birpur (Supaul), Rest of Central Zone scored 402 runs losing 9 wickets in their second innings until the end of the match. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 118 runs and Alok Kumar 106 runs for Rest of Zone. Navneet Jha and Mayank Kumar got three wickets each for Darbhanga and Tripurari Keshav got two wickets. The match was declared a draw. Darbhanga got 3 points and Rest of Central Zone got one point.
