NTPC Kanti launched Girl Empowerment Campaign 2023 on Tuesday. The campaign was inaugurated by DSGSS Babji, Regional Executive Director (East-I), NTPC in the presence of KM Presti, Project Head, NTPC Kanti. Senior officials of NTPC Kanti including Sujata and Sanghamitra, President of Ladies Club were present.
In the Girl Child Empowerment Campaign, 40 girls from different villages of Kanti block are involved, representing 8 schools. In this workshop, which will run from June 06 to June 30, on the theme of Strong Girl, Strong Kanti, free education will be provided to girl students, in which subjects like Mathematics, English, Hindi etc. will be taught.
Along with this, nutritious food will also be provided to all the participants. Extracurricular activities like yoga, dance, music, painting etc. will also be provided for the overall development of the girls. Along with this, computer training will also be given.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, NTPC Regional Executive Director (East-I) DSGSS Babji said, “NTPC Kanti is going to start girl empowerment campaign for 40 girl children from surrounding villages for next four weeks from today. Not only will they be taught books, but they will be told and taught everything that will help them become empowered. He said that NTPC is always ready for the development of Kanti, in the same way it will be ready for the complete safety and responsibility of the girl child. I thank the parents, teachers, and headmaster of the children for supporting us in this campaign.”
KM Pristi, Project Head, NTPC Kanti, who was present on the occasion, said that “This campaign will bring a change not only in the lives of the girls, but also in their families and the entire society. After 30 days, when these girls leave here, they will be full of confidence.”
