Nitish Kumar Extends Eid Greetings, Emphasises Bihar’s Tradition of Brotherhood

By Vishwapati
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the famous Khanqah Mujibiya in Phulwarisharif, Patna, on Monday. There, he met the Khanqah’s Sajjadanashin, Hazrat Maulana Syed Shah Ayatullah Qadri, and extended Eid greetings.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also greeted members of the Muslim community present in large numbers by waving his hand. Upon his arrival at the Khanqah, the manager, Hazrat Maulana Minhazuddin Qadri Mujibiya, welcomed him by placing a cap on his head.

The Chief Minister stayed at Khanqah Mujibiya for about 10 minutes. After this, his convoy proceeded to Haroon Nagar, where he met the Chairman of the Waqf Board, Afzal Abbas, and wished him Eid Mubarak. However, a important development was that CM Nitish Kumar did not visit Imarat-e-Sharia this time, keeping a distance from it.

Many Muslim organisations, including Imarat-e-Sharia, are protesting against the Waqf Bill, due to which the CM refrained from going to Imarat-e-Sharia this time. Politics in Bihar has heated up over the Waqf Bill and Muslim organizations are showing resentment against this decision of the government.

The Chief Minister said that people of all religions live together in Bihar and that this tradition of brotherhood will always continue. He extended Eid greetings to the people of the state and prayed for peace and progress.
