Patna: The Bihar team started leaving Patna to participate in the 36th National Games to be held in Gujarat. On Thursday, the first batch of netball team players left, according to Syed Mushtaq Ahmed, general secretary of Bihar Olympic Association.
He said that in the netball event of the 36th National Games, Bihar’s team will participate in both the men and women categories. In the women’s section, the command of the Bihar team was handed over to Nandani Kumari while the command of the men’s section has been given to Rohit Anand. Netball competition will be organised in Bhavnagar.
Before the departure of the team, Bihar State Sports Authority director general Ravieendran Sankaran, director- cum-secretary Pankaj Raj, Bihar Olympic Association joint secretary Kumar Vijay Singh, Bihar Netball Association secretary Santosh Kumar and other sports enthusiasts congratulated and encouraged the team. Bihar Olympic Association president and former Bihar minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui congratulated the team members and expressed his best wishes for success,
