Nalanda struggling at 96 for 6 in Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Super League

Patna, May 8: Under the Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Super League being played under the auspices of Bihar Cricket Association, the Pool B match between Nalanda and Darbhanga started from Wednesday at the local Moinul Haq Stadium. At the end of the first day’s play, Nalanda scored 96 runs for 6 wickets in 52 overs in its first innings.

Darbhanga won the toss and invited Nalanda to bat. The innings was started by AS Gaurav and Divyansh Raj but on the team total of 4 runs, AS Gaurav was caught by wicketkeeper Abhishek Kumar Mahato off Mohammad Afzal delivery. Jiral Patel came to support Divyansh Raj. There was a partnership of 48 runs between these two before Aarab Jha sent Divyansh Raj to the pavilion for his individual contribution of 26 runs. After this, wickets fell at regular interval as Nalanda struggled to score 96 runs in 52 overs losing 6 wickets.

Jiral Patel scored 34, Aarav Rai scored 7, Brajesh Kumar scored 2 runs. At the end of the day’s play, Ricky Kumar was unbeaten on 8 runs and Viraj Arya was unbeaten on 4 runs.

For Darbhanga, Aniket Amit Raj took 3 wickets, Mohammad Afzal and Aarav Jha took 1 wicket each.
