Patna: On the fourth day of the 14th Hockey Bihar Sub Junior Boys State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Siwan at the Adarsh Government Middle School and Hariram High School grounds in Mairwa, Muzaffarpur cruised into the final with a commanding 4-0 victory over Hockey Bhojpur in the first semi-final. Muzaffarpur’s star player, Amarendra Kumar Singh, netted all four goals, scoring in the 7th, 23rd, 25th, and 38th minutes, ensuring his team’s spot in the final.
In the second semi-final, Saharsa secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Patna to reach the final for the first time. Patna took the lead in the 12th minute with a goal from Prakash Kumar Rana, but Saharsa quickly responded with an equaliser from Aditya Raj in the 14th minute. The decisive goal came in the 46th minute when Ashutosh Kumar found the back of the net, securing Saharsa’s place in the championship final.
The final showdown between Muzaffarpur and Saharsa will take place on Monday.
