Massive Turnout at Bihar Kho-Kho Selection Trials for Khelo India Youth Games 2025

Patna: A large gathering of players assembled at the kho-kho selection trials held on Sunday at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna. The event was organised under the auspices of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar and overseen by the Bihar State Sports Authority. The trials aimed to select the Bihar Boys and Girls Kho-Kho teams for the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games 2025.

The selection trials were inaugurated by Raveendran Sankaran, Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority, who performed the traditional ritual of breaking a coconut and offering prayers. Sankaran expressed his astonishment at the overwhelming number of participants and assured that the government would intensify efforts to promote the sport further.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Ravindra Nath Choudhary, Director of the Bihar State Sports Authority. Neeraj Kumar Pappu, Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, extended a warm welcome to all attendees.

Neeraj Kumar Pappu, General Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, shared details about the event, revealing that approximately 1,700 boys and girls from various districts across Bihar participated in the trials. The selection process was conducted on two courts, with 25 players each set to be chosen for the boys’ and girls’ teams. Following the trials, a training camp will be organised, after which the final squad will be announced.

Pappu added that the training camp is scheduled to commence next month, with national-level coaches being brought in from outside the state to provide specialised training to the selected players.
