Patna: Mahendru SU defeated Rainbow Football Academy 4-1 in the Rekha Devi Memorial Patna District Junior Division Football League match being played under the aegis of Patna Football Association on Thursday. The first match played between Flying Woods and Bhogi Paswan FC ended in a goalless draw.
In this match, many attempts were made by the players of both the teams but they failed to score, eventually the match ended in a goalless draw. Match referee Shubham Sharma showed yellow cards to Nitish Kumar of Bhogi Paswan FC, Mohit Kumar and Mohd Sartaj Alam of Flying Woods.
Player of the match was Sarfarazuddin of Flying Words who was awarded by Shivshankar Prasad, vice president of Patna Football Association.
In the second match, Mahendru Sporting Union defeated Rainbow FA 4-1. Mahendru SU’s Samant Kumar scored the first goal in the 27th minute of the game and Mahendru SU were leading 1-0 at half time.
In the second half, Samar of Rainbow Football Academy scored a goal to equalize the score, but his happiness ended after a few minutes when Vivek Oraon of Mahendru SU scored a goal in the 45th minute to take the score to 2-1. Md Chand in the 52nd minute and then Ritesh in the 72nd minute scored a goal each to give Mahendru SU a 4-1 victory. Rainbow side made several attempts to equalise the goal but they failed. Mahendru SU’s Karthik was awarded the Player of the Match. Rajendra Prasad Yadav, treasurer of Patna Football Association gave away the award.
