Patna: Kusumraj Maniam Gold Cup Under-17 Inter-School Cricket Tournament trophies were unveiled on Thursday. The tournament is being organised under the aegis of Dr Rajdev Sharma Memorial Trust and it will be held at the Sanjay Gandhi Stadium from March 1.
The trophy was unveiled by Dr Amrendra Kumar Amresh, chairman of the trust, Pankaj Kumar Mishra, principal of Kusumraj Maniam Public School Moriwa, Patna, administrators Jayantu Kumar and Pankaj Kumar.
Only 12 teams will participate in this tournament being organised with the technical support of Sardar Patel Sports Foundation. All the matches will be played on knockout and 25 overs a side basis.
Organising secretary Santosh Tiwari said that the winning and runner-up teams will be awarded many attractive prizes including the trophy, man of the series, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and best wicketkeeper. He said that two matches would be conducted daily under the supervision of renowned umpires.
