Patna, May 6: In a thrilling match at Urja Stadium, KNCC emerged victorious over BHPCL by 43 runs in the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League on Monday. KNCC’s Prakhar Gyan stole the show with an outstanding century, scoring 153 runs off 117 balls, including 11 fours and 9 sixes. On the other side, BHPCL’s Tusharkant also showcased his prowess with an unbeaten century, scoring 124 runs off 86 balls with 17 fours and 4 sixes, yet his valiant effort couldn’t secure a win for his team.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, KNCC set a formidable target, posting 299 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 40 overs. Besides Gyan’s stellar performance, Surya Prakash contributed with a commendable 53 runs, while Raunit chipped in with 33 runs.
In pursuit of the target, BHPCL fought hard but fell short, getting bowled out for 256 runs in 38.5 overs. Apart from Tusharkant, who stood tall with his unbeaten century, none of the other BHPCL batsmen managed to make significant contributions.
KNCC’s bowling attack was led by Aman Raj, who claimed 3 crucial wickets, supported by Sarvesh Sagar and Shambhu Kumar, who took two wickets each. Akshat and Prakhar Gyan also contributed with one wicket each. Gyan’s exceptional performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
