Patna: Kerala defeated Bihar by 7 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T-20 cricket match played on Thursday in Mumbai.
In the match played at DY Patil University Ground in Mumbai, Kerala won the toss and invited Bihar to bat.
Bihar had a very bad start. Bipin Saurabh was out without opening the account, while captain Babul was out after scoring one run and Sakibul Gani was out after scoring 4 runs.
Thanks to the 54-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Gaurav Joshi and Krishna Kumar Yadav, Bihar were able to score 111 all out in 20 overs.
For Bihar, Gaurav Joshi scored 37 runs, Krishna Kumar Yadav scored 23 runs, Sachin Kumar Singh scored 9 runs, Sarman Nigrodh remained not out on 15 runs.
For Kerala, Basil Thampi and Asif KM took two wickets each, Vinod Kumar CV, Shreyas Gopal, S Joseph and Abdul BPA took one wicket each.
In reply, Kerala won the match by scoring 117 runs for four wickets in 13 overs. Kerala got its first blow at the total of 8 runs when Malay Raj got Mohammad Azharuddin caught by Suraj Kashyap but after this Rohan S Kunnumal, Vishnu Vinod and Abdul BPA steered their team to victory. For Kerala, Rohan S Kunnumal scored 36 runs, Vishnu Vinod scored 32 runs and Abdul BPA scored 39 unbeaten runs. For Bihar, Paramjeet Singh took 2 wickets for 20 runs, Malay Raj took 1 wicket for 4 runs.
Bihar team’s next match will be against Himachal Pradesh on October 21.
