Kaimur take first innings lead against Gaya, Mangal Maharour misses ton

Patna, May 22: In the ongoing BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament Super League match against Kaimur, Mangal Maharour of Gaya narrowly missed scoring a century, while his team fell short of taking the lead in the first innings by a slim margin. Kaimur’s first innings concluded at 283 runs, while Gaya managed to reach 278 runs in their first innings. At the close of the second day’s play, Kaimur secured a lead of 40 runs, scoring 35 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12 overs in their second innings. Gupil Rai is batting on 7, while Nishant Singh is yet to open his account.

On the second day, Kaimur’s team, starting the day at 220 for seven wickets, added 63 runs before being all out for 283 runs in their first innings. Shivam Singh Yadav scored a half-century, with Vikas Patel contributing 38 runs. Shivam Singh Yadav’s innings totaled 50 runs.

For Gaya, Nitish Singh and Praveen Prakash took four wickets each, while Nikku Singh claimed one wicket.

In Gaya’s first innings, Mangal Maharour and Gautam Kumar opened the innings. Gaurav Singh dismissed Gautam Kumar for 10 runs. Saifullah supported Mangal, contributing 33 runs in a 62-run partnership. Shivam Kishore, who replaced Ranjan Raj, scored 31 runs and shared a half-century partnership with Mangal Maharour. Despite Mangal’s valiant effort, he was caught on 98 runs by Vikas Patel. Narendra Prasad and Nikku Singh further contributed, but Gaya’s innings concluded at 278 runs.

Vikas Patel took 5 wickets for 83 runs for Kaimur, while Dhanesh Chauhan claimed 3 wickets for 57 runs. Gaurav Singh and Diwan Danish Khan took 1 wicket each.

By the end of the second day’s play, Kaimur scored 35 runs for 2 wickets in 12 overs in their second innings. Shashank Upadhyay scored 19 runs, and Abhishek Kumar Singh scored 9 runs. Praveen Prakash took both wickets for Gaya.
