Jharkhand boys emerge runners-up in Nine a Side Football Championship

Ranchi: The 11th Junior under 19 National Nine a Side Football Championship was organised by the West Bengal Nine A Side Football Association from May 5 to May 7 at Raj College Ground Jhargram, under the aegis of Nine A Side Football Federation of India. As many as 12 state teams participated in the tournament.  Jharkhand emerged runners-up in the tournament losing to Assam in the final via penalty shoot-outs. This information was given by Brajesh Gupta, general secretary, Nine a Side Football Association of Jharkhand.

Earlier, Jharkhand defeated Kerala 4-0, Goa 2-0 Tripura 2-1 and West Bengal 3-2 in their pool matches to qualify for the semi-finals.  In the semi-final, Jharkhand beat Bihar to enter the final

All the office bearers of the Nine a Side Football Association of Jharkhand congratulated the state team members for the achievement.
