Patna: Bihar were on the verge of defeat against Chhattisgarh in their four-day Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday. At the end of the third day’s play Bihar were struggling at 43 for the loss of four wickets in their second innings still trailing by 173 runs to put Chhattisgarh bat again.
Earlier, resuming at overnight 201 for the loss of five wickets Chhattisgarh made 376 runs all out in their first innings and took 216 runs lead over Bihar. Overnight not out batsman Sanjeet Desai duly completed his century as he scored valuable 139 runs off 180 balls with 13 boundaries and four sixes. In the later part of the innings Vijay stroked in a power packed 50 runs with five boundaries and one six and Deepak Singh made 42 runs.
In the second innings, Bihar batsmen repeated the first innings story against Chhattisgarh bowling attack with first wicket falling on 1, 2nd on 22, 3rd on 37 and 4th on 41.
