Patna: India men and women teams won one bronze medal each in quad event of the Sepak Takraw World Cup at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna on Friday. However in the men’s quad event Thailand won the gold medal defeating Vietnam 15-1, 15-9 in two straight sets, Vietnam claimed the silver medal while India and Myanmar jointly got the bronze medals.
In the women’s quad event Vietnam defeated Thailand 2-1 in a three set thriller to win the gold. Vietnam won the first set 15-12 while Thailand bagged the second set 15-12. In the decider Vietnam clinched the third set 15-13 and the coveted gold medal. Thailand had to be satisfied with the silver medal. India and Malaysia bagged the bronze medals in the women’s quad event.
