Independence Day celebrated at St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna

PATNA: St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, celebrated the 77th Independence Day at an event, characterised by a strong sense of patriotism, cultural presentations, and a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters.

The programme, held on the college campus, was graced by the presence of IPS officer, Bidyanand Paswan, as the chief guest.

Addressing the students, Paswan praised the institution for its unwavering commitment to providing quality education in Bihar. Stating that education was the foundation of a nation’s progress, he commended the college management and staff for their dedication and pivotal role in shaping Bihar’s future through education.

The celebration began with the unfurling of the national flag, following which, the students showcased their artistic talents through a captivating cultural programme.

The event featured a soul-stirring medley of patriotic songs presented by the college Dhwani Club, evoking a profound sense of pride and patriotism among the attendees. Tarunima and Prajjwal Mishra delivered inspiring speeches that echoed the ideals of independence and self-reliance. The Xavier Theatre Club paid homage to the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters through a heartwarming and insightful play that depicted their lives and struggles.

Adding to the artistic tapestry of the celebration, the Xavier Dance Club enthralled the audience with a graceful and captivating dance performance that highlighted the essence of unity and diversity in India.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Isha Tanna, a second-year student from the BCP programme.

Rector Fr Joseph, Sebastian SJ, principal Fr Martin Poras, members of the management committee, faculty members and administrative staff were present on the occasion.
