By Vishwapati

Patna: Illegal gambling and gaming activities are thriving in rural areas of the capital, Patna, and its surrounding blocks, with illicit liquor also being served. One such case has come to light in Bihta, where an illegal online gambling and betting racket was rapidly expanding.

Upon receiving intelligence about the network, the police swiftly formed a special team and conducted raids, leading to the arrest of five individuals.

Gambling Racket Busted Near Bihta Police Station

This unlawful operation was being run near Domaniya Bridge, just 700 metres from Bihta police station. Acting on the instructions of Danapur DSP-2, Pankaj Mishra, a police team raided the location. During the raid, officers seized multiple documents related to gambling and betting, indicating that the operation was being conducted in an organised manner.

However, some suspects managed to flee as soon as they got information of the police operation. A search is currently underway to apprehend them.

Police Identify More Suspects in Online Gambling Network

Investigations have revealed that some youths from Sikandarpur in Bihta and Ara were involved in this online gambling racket. The police have identified them and are preparing to make further arrests. Electronic devices, including mobile phones, seized from the accused are being examined to uncover the full extent of the network.

In addition to digital evidence, the police have confiscated chairs, stools, and other items used for gambling. DSP Pankaj Mishra said that the gang had been active for a long time, using technology to lure people into online gambling.

Authorities are now analysing digital trails to track down the mastermind behind this illegal operation. Following this crackdown, the police have urged local residents to report any such unlawful activities to the administration. Surveillance is also being intensified in other areas to completely dismantle the illegal gambling network.
