Bhagalpur: A hardcore maoist Bajrangi Koda was nabbed by a police team yesterday from Sardara village in Belhar block of Banka district. Koda, a prized catch for police was active in areas bordering Munger, Jamui, Lakhisarai and Banka districts. He had been evading arrest since last five years.
On basis of tower location and secret information, the maoist was arrested by a joint team consisting members of Jamalpur STF and Belhar police from his house located in Sardara village. Police team surrounded village of Koda and picked him up from his house following receipt of concrete information about his location.
As per available information the nabbed extremist was wanted in connection with total eight cases related to extremist violence, liquor and arms act in Chanan, Kajara, and Piri Bazar police stations of Lakhisarari district.
He was also wanted by police for his involvement in clash between police and maoist in 2018 at Kanodia hill under Kjara PS. Koda had been to jail previously in extremist related activities. As per sources he has revealed valuable information concerning activities of extremist organization in his interrogation by police following his arrest.
His involvement in maoist activities in Jhajha, Jamui and Laxmipur PS of Jamui district is also being scanned by police. Koda taken on judicial remand was sent to Lakhisarai yesterday after his arrest from village of Banka district.
