Hajipur to host 29th Bihar State Senior Ball Badminton from December 16

Patna: The annual executive and general boy meeting of the Bihar State Ball Badminton Association was held here on Saturday. Bihar State Ball Badminton Association’s president-cum-MLC (Patna Teachers’ Constituency) Prof Nawal Kishore Yadav presided over the meeting.

Representatives of 27 different districts/organisations/institutions participated in the meeting. While presiding over the meeting, Prof Nawal Kishore Yadav said that facilities for ball badminton and players will be modernised in the state. Activities will be expedited in the districts. Players will get the basic facilities. Ball badminton game will be started in various universities of the state.

He also instructed the office-bearers of the association to organise inter-school ball badminton tournaments in all the districts.

Vice-president of the association, Prof Suheli Mehta said that there is a need to make the district associations more powerful. Special training will be given to players selected to represent Bihar in the national tournaments, she said.

Bihar Ball Badminton Association general secretary Gouri Shankar welcomed the guests. Informing about the decisions taken in the annual executive and general body meeting, he said that according to the programme announced for the session-2022-23, the 29th Bihar State Senior Ball Badminton Championship (men and women) will be organised from December 16 to 18 at Hajipur.

The 29th Bihar State Junior Ball Badminton Championship (Boys & Girls) to be organised in Madhubani from January 13 to January 15, 2023 and 28th Bihar State Sub Junior Ball Badminton Championship (Boys & Girls) will be organised in third week of January, 2023 in Muzaffarpur.

The third Youth National Ball Badminton Championship (Men and Women) will be organised in East Champaran in the last week of February, 2023. Along with this, the fifth state level inter-school ball badminton championship (boys and girls) will be organised in Patna in May, 2023.

Apart from this, training camps will be organised in Bhojpur, Munger, Purnia and Gaya before various national tournaments. Many proposals were passed in the meeting for the development of ball badminton game.

Anamika Paswan, Neeta Thakur, Mitali Mitra, G. Kiran, Anuja Singh, Jayant Singh, Ranjan Gupta, Pushkar Dev, Raj Kumar Nirala, Arun Dayal, Shiv Shankar Pal, Pankaj Singh, Raj Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan, Umesh Kumar, Rakesh Ranjan, Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Rajesh Subhangi, Vikas Kumar, Vishal Singh, Amitabh Kumar, Birju Jha, Shrimod Pathak, senior national player Rahul Kumar, Deepak Prakash Ranjan, Badal Kumar, Aditya Raj and all the office-bearers of the association were present at the meeting.
