Patna: Varisha Singh beat Kumari Ananya 3-2 to win the Junior Girls Singles title of Dr Shatrughan Prasad Memorial Table Tennis Championship at Bihar Young Men’s Institute here on Monday.
Varisha Singh also won the senior girls singles title defeating Kumari Ananya by an identical margin 3-2. With this win, she won a grand double in the tournament.
In the Junior boys singles, Priyanshu Das beat Risik 3-1 to win the title. In the senior boys singles final Saikat Das beat Sagar Das 3-2 to win the title.
Rinku Singh, commissioner, Income Tax who was the chief guest and guest of honour Anima Rani gave away the prizes. BTTA vice president Parvez Ahmad, Saajal Dutta Guota, Sanjay Kumar, Papiya Gandhi, Chulbul Dey, Rahul Das, Kishan Raj and many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Pankaj Pandey was the chief referee of the tournament. Organising secretary Somnath Roy proposed a vote of thanks.
