GBC@IV: 8 aspirational districts of Uttar Pradesh surpass investment targets

  • Projects worth over Rs 1,57,651 cr to be launched in 8 aspirational districts of UP

Lucknow: Through the upcoming Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC@IV), the Yogi government will kick off projects worth over Rs 1,57,651 crores in the 8 aspirational districts of Uttar Pradesh, surpassing the target of 1,53,400 crores by 102 per cent.

Of the projects to be launched in the eight aspirational districts, the highest worth Rs 2,23,887.77 crores is set to take place in Gautam Buddh Nagar. It will be followed by the aspirational district of Sonbhadra, which will see unveiling of projects worth Rs 1,21,220.62 crores, exceeding the target of Rs 1 lakh crores by 121.22 per cent. This investment will not only boost the development of the Eastern region, but also accelerate the overall development of the state.

Similarly, projects worth Rs 23,457.61 crore will be launched in Chandauli district, which was once considered the hub of Naxal activities. Chandauli was Given a target of Rs 20,000 crore, Chandauli has achieved 117.29 per cent of the target.

Besides, Fatehpur will witness the commencement of projects worth Rs 1,687.05 crores, surpassing its target of Rs 1,600 crores by 105.44 per cent.

Additionally, Terai district Bahraich will embark on projects worth Rs 2,548.74 crores, exceeding its target of Rs 2,500 crores by 101.95 per cent. Furthermore, Shravasti will see launch if projects worth Rs 832 crores, Balrampur Rs 415.35 crores, Siddharthnagar Rs 442.39 crores, and Chitrakoot Rs 7,047.37 crores. Notably, four out of 8 aspirational districts have set an example by achieving more than 100 per cent target.

Aspirational districts become the second growth engine of UP

It is worth mentioning here that Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra and Chandauli districts were Naxal affected areas in the past. Similarly, districts like Siddharthnagar, Bahraich, Fatehpur, Shravasti, and Balrampur grappled with the terror of dacoits and were considered backward.

However, today with the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the districts have joined the mainstream of development, and are attracting huge investments.
