Patna: Gaya Youth Cricket Club and Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy entered the semi-finals of the 3rd Freedom Fighter Rajeshwar Rai Memorial Cricket Tournament at Anshul Cricket Academy ground on Friday.
Gaya Youth Cricket Club defeated Star XI by five wickets while Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy defeated Sardar Patel Cricket Academy by 98 runs in the quarterfinal matches of the tournament.
In the first quarter-final Gaya Youth Cricket Club won the toss and invited Star XI to bat first. Batting first, Star XI scored 159 runs losing all wickets in 24.2 overs. In reply, Gaya Youth Cricket Club won the match by scoring 165 runs for five wickets in 19.1 overs. Man of the match award was given to Ankush of the winning team by umpire Manish Paul.
Batting first after winning the toss in the second quarterfinal, Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy scored 260 runs for nine wickets in 25 overs with the help of half-centuries from Aditya (70 runs) and Rishabh Ranjan (70 runs). In reply, the team of Sardar Patel Cricket Academy was all out for 162 runs in 16.4 overs. Aditya of Bihar Cambridge Cricket Academy was given the player of the match award by umpire Yatendra Kumar.
