Patna: Gaya defeated Nawada, Rohtas defeated Buxar and Kishanganj defeated Araria in BCA Inter District Cricket Tournament played at different venues of Bihar on Saturday.
Gaya defeated Nawada by seven wickets thanks to brilliant batting of Ranjan Raj (42 runs) and Mangal Mahraur (55 runs).
Gaya won the toss and invited Nawada to bat first. Nawada scored 122 runs losing all wickets in 37.3 overs. Arslan scored the highest 28 runs for Nawada. Nikku, Gaurav, Ashutosh, Rohit and Mukesh took two wickets each for Gaya.
In reply, Gaya scored 123 runs for three wickets in 26.5 overs and won the match. Ranjan Raj scored 42 runs in 64 balls with 5 fours and Mangal Mahraur scored 55 runs in 59 balls. Dilwaz of Nawada took two wickets for 34 runs. Mangal Mahraur of the winning team was awarded the Man of the Match.
Rohtas beat Buxar by 7 wickets
Bhabhua: Rohtas register the first win in the tournament defeating Buxar by 7 wickets at Jagjivan Stadium on Saturday. Buxar won the toss and batting first scored only 129 runs losing all wickets in 37 overs. Ravi scored scored 23 runs in 32 balls.
Rohtas fast bowler Sagar Tiwari took 4 wickets. Sourav and Anshu took two wickets each.
Chasing 130 runs to win, Rohtas achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in 22.4 overs. Tarun facing 64 balls, played a brilliant innings of 54 runs, which included 6 fours and one six, while Rahul scored 34 runs.
Kishanganj beat Araria
Purnia: Araria won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 177 runs losing 7 wickets in the 45 overs. For Araria, Karan Bhardwaj made 52 runs. Jayalal Murmu scored 44 runs. For Kishanganj, Nandan Mandal took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 9 overs.
Chasing a target of 178 runs, Kishanganj won the match by 4 wickets thanks to Satish Kumar’s unbeaten half-century innings.
For Kishanganj, Satish Kumar scored 61 runs. Anived Vyas made 41 runs. Shravan Kumar took two wickets for 29 runs.
