Gaya beat Supaul to enter Shubhkamana Cricket semi-finals

Supaul: Gaya beat  Supaul by 6 wickets and entered the semi-finals of Shubhkamana Cricket Tournament at Kuhli sports ground, Parasarma, Sadar block of Supaul district.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated jointly by Kumar Indrapakash (Sub-divisional Police Officer Supaul), Jyoti Gami (Block Development Officer Supaul), Prince Raj (Circle Officer Supaul), Kalicharan (BPRO Supaul) by cutting the ribbon and getting introduced to the players and umpires. They also tried their hands in batting and bowling.

Supaul captain Nandan won the toss and decided to bat first. Supaul batsmen looked shaky from the start and Supaul’s wicket kept falling at regular intervals in front of Gaya’s steady bowling. Supaul were all out for 114 runs in 22.3 overs.

Rajesh Singhof Supaul made 53 runs off 39 balls with four sixes and four boundaries. Mayank scored 13 runs off 11 balls.

For Gaya, Raju Pandey took three wickets for 12 runs. Praveen Prakash took 2 wickets by giving away 6 runs and Vicky Ranjan took 2 wickets by giving away 8 runs.

Chasing the target of 115 runs, the Gaya scored 117 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 16.4 overs.

Gaya’s Ranjan Raj scored 34 runs in 41 balls with the help of 5 fours and  Syed Saifullah scored 46 runs in 37 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours. Yash Raj scored 14 runs in 6 balls with the help of 2 sixes. For Supaul Shivanshu Raja got 3 wickets for 15 runs off 4 overs. Gaya’s captain Raju Pandey was awarded the man of the match.

Anuj Kumar Singh of the organising committee said that on Monday the second league match of Group A will be played between Araria and Pappu XI Muzaffarpur.
