Patna: A free summer ball badminton training camp commenced at Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan ground in Patna on Thursday. International ball badminton coach P. Ramesh from Tamil Nadu, who is in Patna for the first time to train players, addressed the participants during the inaugural session. He noted that players from Bihar have made their mark at national and international levels based on their talent but often fall short due to a lack of technical skills.

This training camp aims to address and resolve these technical deficiencies. P. Ramesh, along with assistant coach Mohd Salman (also from Tamil Nadu), began training the aspiring ball badminton players. They are supported by Kilkari’s coach and senior national player Badal Kumar, along with Rahul Kumar (Patna), Deepak Prakash Ranjan (Madhepura), Priya Singh (Vaishali), and Neha Rani (Supaul).

The camp was formally inaugurated by Pawan Kumar Kejriwal, director of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association and proprietor of Jan Aushadhi Kendra IGIMS Patna, Kilkari’s director Jyoti Parihar, social worker Sunita Kejriwal, the state association’s vice-president and GST advocate Mithilesh Kumar Mandal, and the association’s secretary Gouri Shankar, who jointly released balloons into the air. The dignitaries were also introduced to the players. The stage was managed by Dr. Arun Dayal, secretary of the Patna District Ball Badminton Association.

Present at the occasion were Mitali Mitra, joint secretary of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association, along with Rakesh Ranjan, Babita Devi, physical teacher Rajiv Ranjan, Prabhat Rana, Ajit Kumar, Munmun, Vicky Prakash, and many sports enthusiasts. The training camp will run in two sessions daily: the first from 6:30 am to 9:30 am, and the second from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
