Fire breaks out in AC bogie of Holi special train in Ara

Patna: A major fire broke out in the AC bogie of a Holi special train in Ara near Patna, late last night. The accident injured a dozen passengers, but all remain safe. This train was going from Danapur to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai. This Holi special train, passing through Karisath railway station between Danapur-Buxar railway station in Bihar, caught fire.

A massive fire broke out in bogie M9 of train number 01410 Holi Special at 12 o’clock in the night, after which there was chaos among the passengers. Railway personnel helped bring the fire under control. This train left from Danapur at 11:15 pm, all the passengers of which are safe at present.

It is being said that as soon as the train moved from Ara Railway Station around 12 o’clock in the night, smoke started filling AC coach M9. Before the passengers could understand anything, the fire engulfed the entire coach.

As soon as the passengers informed the senior railway officials, along with the team of Dial 112, they all hurriedly stopped the train at Karisath station and first evacuated the passengers safely. After that, with great efforts, Railway Protection Force personnel and the Dial 112 team brought the fire under control.

Hours later, the train left for Buxar. Passengers travelling by the Holi special train said that the train had just moved ahead from Ara railway station when smoke started filling its coach.

“The fire took a devastating form. The passengers informed the railway personnel and the team of Dial 112 about the fire,” a railway passenger said.

Danapur DRM Jayant Chaudhary said that the fire was reported at around 3:45 in the morning. Immediately, a team of officials reached the spot, and the fire was brought under control. There was full cooperation from the villagers, due to which the fire was controlled despite limited time and resources. The station master is investigating the cause of the fire.
