Patna: Preparations for the Laxman Singh Memorial Under-15 Inter-School Cricket Tournament, organised under the auspices of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, are in their final stages. The tournament is set to take place at the Krishna Cricket Ground in Khemnichak, Patna, commencing on March 20.
Santosh Tiwari, founder of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, said that the tournament was initially scheduled to begin on March 18. However, following requests from the managers of the participating teams, the start date was postponed to 20th March.
Naveen Kumar, the Foundation’s General Secretary and Organising Secretary, said that 24 teams will be permitted to participate in the event. He explained that if more than 24 entries are received, the final teams will be selected through a lottery system. All matches will be played on a knock-out basis, with each game consisting of 25 overs per side.
Kumar also said that the tournament will feature a range of prizes. The winning and runner-up teams will receive attractive awards, including trophies. Additional accolades such as Man of the Match, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Wicketkeeper, and Man of the Tournament will also be up for grabs.
