PATNA: The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) on Saturday conducted raids at three locations in Patna and Vaishali districts, linked to an education department deputy director in connection with disproportionate assets.
EOU officials said the action was taken against education department deputy director Vibha Kumari after they received complaints against her.
They said the EOU team conducted simultaneous raids Vibha Kumari’s Bansikunj Apartment flat in Danapur, her government residence on Bailey Road in Patna and her in-laws’ house in Vaishali district.

“Acting on a tip-off that Vibha Kumari had amassed assets disproportionate to her known source of income by misusing her position, an investigation was conducted into the complaints. After the allegation was found to be true, an FIR was lodged against Vibha Kumari for having acquired 52.03% disproportionate assets,” the officials said.
“She is accused of taking bribe in return for giving recognition to universities. The EOU is also probing the bribery allegations against her,” they added.
